The MIrbeau-Hummel development project on the south side of the City of Lake Geneva was defeated by the Lake Geneva City Council on April 28, 2008 unanimously 8-0.

Now The Hummel Group alone is bringing forward another plan, but the Plan Commission is in the midst of preparing the 2010 Smart Growth plan and will not entertain a plan until that is approved.

So far the Land Use Map for the City of Lake Geneva and its extraterritorial jurisdiction show the Hummel Land as AG with an overlay of residential development after 20 years.  The Smart Growth plan will have an open house in July and by October a public hearing and vote by the City Council.
